Real battery life comparison (simulation)
New Methodics
- Start with fully charged battery - 100%, end with battery indicator at 5%
- Display brightness set to maximum
- Airplane mode
- Room temperature
- No terrain maps
- XCTrack 0.5.1.3 or higher
- Go to Preferences -> Automatic actions and check "Manual landing confirmation"
- Do some move faster than 5 km/h for starting tracklog
- Put your device close to window for good GPS reception
(XCTrack will show dialog for landing confirmation, ignore it, wait for discharging to 5% and send the results to "xctrack (@) xcontest (.) org")

Old Methodics (GPS OFF, Wifi ON)
- do not use this anymore - it shows result time 30% longer, because relatively big GPS consumption is not included -
- Start with fully charged battery - 100%
- End with battery indicator at 5%
- Display brightness set to maximum
- Airplane mode, but WiFi is On and connected (it poorly simulates consumption of GPS module)
- Android sync Off
- Room temperature
- Repaint frequency - "normal (twice per second)" (XCTrack -> preferences -> display)
- No terrain maps (Menu -> Customize -> Configure Widget -> Display terrain map)
- XCTrack playing long IGC tracklog from file (XCTrack -> preferences -> Testing&Debug -> GPS location source -> IGC replay)
